Each year the University of California, Davis does a water-wise trial to determine drought tolerance, foliage and flower quality, vigor, and overall plant appearance for participating companies. At the end of the 2-year trial, they release their findings and bestow their UC LPIT Blue Ribbon Award to plants that they deem to consistently perform at a very high level with low water usage. This year, two of the five awards were given to our First Editions® varieties: Purple Magic Crapemyrtle and Delta Blues™ Vitex. This is really exciting and we hope that you will share the news.
